I started this site to help upper elementary teachers love science as much as I do and find easy, adaptable techniques to bring scientific concepts into students’ hands.
Teaching science can be tough.
You don’t have the necessary tools, confidence, resources, or budget to bring your students’ experiences.
And here I am now to bring dispel those misconceptions that you have about teaching science. Whether you lack the tools, confidence, or resources, I can help make your teaching life much easier by providing you with tips, ideas, and cost-effective ways to bring science into the lives of your students.
Together, teacher friend, let’s do the best job that we can and teach these kiddos a thing or two about the world around us.
Consider joining my science squad below. Each week, you will be sent tips and ideas to make life in the science classroom fun and manageable!

So, who am I?
Hello, my name is Kristin. I am a teacher, educational blogger, and curriculum designer. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary (K-6) and special education (K-12), as well as a master’s degree in literacy (K-6). In addition to my master’s degree, I have 90+ credits in science and technology. I started my teaching career in fourth grade. For the past 10+ years, I have been teaching 6-8 grade science and reading. Teaching both of these subjects has allowed me to develop a deep passion for combining the two whenever possible. I like to show students that reading is everywhere, especially in science, and strengthen their literacy skills while also allowing them to know that science is more than reading from a worksheet. Creating fun, hands-on experiences has allowed me to deepen student understanding of both subject areas.
I live on Long Island with my husband and furry child, Samson. I love to take Samson for walks, paint, and try out new restaurants in my spare time.
